Is that a new cooling hose? Or just another proof of your attention to detail?
If it is indeed a brand new, where did you buy it? |
Do you mean the one on the top? Thats a crankcase breather hose. I just cleaned it :)
|
That is the one I meant, yes. It looks so good, I couldn't decide if it was new or not. Although I suspected that you might have cleaned it. No-one beats you when it comes to the effort and skill.
Good to see the hose in good condition, even if it's old. The owner must be very happy :) |
As an MJ customer, I can certainly confirm that “the owner must be very happy”! The work Michaela did on my car was to an exceptional standard, and her ‘fix everything that I find along the way’ mentality is unequaled by any place that I’ve ever found.
I’m hoping to be back early next year for a rear subframe and suspension overhaul, that I wouldn’t trust to anyone else. And this is in addition to her exceptional contributions to this forum and the fact that she’s a really nice person! Round of forum applause for MJ please +++ |

Thanks Jim :)
I found another plastic part which is NLA, so of course I just made a new one :D http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1606069551 |

That's it +++ Now I have many of them :D
New hardware for the scuttle trim. The original outer bolts are NLA so instead I am using N10160204 which is a couple of mm longer but still has the black coating. The snap nuts are N90342504 and the centre bolt is N10205604, both still available. http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1606073435 Engine all back together with a new thermostat  http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1606073435 The original scuttle trim had been butchered by whoever hacked up the electronics box so that was replaced http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1606073435 New bolts in place http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1606073435 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1606073435 3d printed bolt cover http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1606073435 Every single screw on the electronics box cover was trashed so I just drilled them all out http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1606073435 Pretty gnarly but it cleaned up fine http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1606073435 I have run out of replacement hardware for the headlights and I'm not sure if the parts are still available until Monday. It was vexing me terribly to have to use ordinary bolts :tuttut: http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1606073435 Until of course I remembered Sergey's wing bolt covers +++ http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1606073435 Bumper back on http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1606073435 I solved the leaking brake hose issue but didn't take any pics. It was a tiny burr on the end of the hardline flare left over from the previous hose which was stopping the flare from fully seating in the new hose so I filed that off and replaced it and now it's fine :) Arch liners back in and wheels on tomorrow and then a quick road test +++ |
There is one piece of dark styrofoam behind the arch liners. I removed that when I worked on my car a couple of years ago. But I never could figure what location it was positioned in. The left front of the engine room perhaps?
I still have that part in my garage... in case I by some wonder figured out where to put it :o The clips holding the headlights are NLA, I believe. I was not able to get all four when Audi replaced mine (2017). They had 2 or 3, can't recall for sure |
