Wanted A8 D2 FL Headlight Washer Jet Mechanism with silver cover / cap !
Have already tried our sponsors and they have none in stock so just chancing my arm that someone on here has the following :
WANTED !!! A8 D2 FL Headlight Washer Jet Mechanism with silver cover / cap if possible ? Mine comes up but no water is propelled onto the headlight, and the silver coloured cap has broken off and has been lost. Need it to pass an MOT in a couple of weeks time. Haven't priced from Audi but I'm sure I wouldnt want to pay what they would ask. LOL Any help appreciated ! |
MJ might have one, have you tried PM'ing her?
|
I was giving the damn things away until I realised how rare and expensive they are when I wanted one myself :-( I had to buy A8parts' last one for £lots http://www.corradov8.com/pics/banghead.gif
They are obsolete from Audi and £lotsmore when they did exist. Its a future project to figure out how to retrofit something newer. I'd try removing it and soaking it in vinegar overnight. It may just be scaled up. |
or Coca-Cola. :D:love:

I will have a look. There is a slim chance I still have one after my front bumper was replaced, there was something left in a box but can't remember what it was!
I know I have a cap in Agate grey somewhere if that's of use, would need spraying to the correct colour. EDIT: This is the part I have 4D0955101A - Pressure cylinder for headlight washer as shown in the photos attached. Attachment 20962 Attachment 20963 |

Could even deliver them to you if you want. MJ - Could I just attach a hose pipe to them to test they work? |
Yeah a hose pipe or an air line will do it. A certain amount of pressure will cause the jet to lift up then increasing pressure further will start to spray.

With my lack of knowledge I simply assumed the cylinder came complete with washer jet, but since you have posted the picture I'm now assuming it comes in two parts. The last time I bought one from our sponsors the cylinder and washer jet complete cost me £30 and I just replaced it, so never knew they came apart. Having said that, that purchase was made in 2013, and our sponsors now charge £59.99 or best offer on ebay for the part now ! My cylinder does seem to work ok but the washer jet must have been damaged when the cap broke off and went missing. So in all fairness I don't think your cylinder would help me but i appreciate you taking the time to post. Thank you !!!! |

Thank you ! |
I'm think this is the correct picture of what I'm after.
Does anyone know how the washer jet comes apart from the cylinder, and for convenience, is it possible to remove the jet if the top cover/cap is already off, therefore removing the need to take the bumper off to remove and repair the entire cylinder jet mechanism ? Thanks ! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/10...psqlbnj4fi.jpg |

Thank you ! |
That's a D3 jet in the picture.
The bumper has to come off to change them unfortunately. |

Its looking like Steamship can help.... Cheers folks ! |
That's good to hear. Didn't realise how much the cylinders were, time for an ebay listing I think!
Good luck with the MOT. +++ |

For anyone interested, have just being doing some investigation for Richard.
Turns out, of the two I had still in a bumper, one was completely smashed, and the other had one of the jets missing, so not much use. I played around with the better one, and it is possible to remove the existing jet mechanism without too much hassle. Not sure if it could be done in situ, on the car, but haven't tried. I then did some checking and came across a very similar jet mechanism for a similar aged Audi A6, with the part numbers being 4Z7955101 (passenger side) and 4Z7955102 (driver side). They look identical, and are only about a fiver (from China), as opposed to £19 from the dealer. I might send off for one to see if they will work. |
Again incase anyone is interested !!!!!
Contacted Audi to order the water jet nozzle and cap and recieved this reply .... See attached, Item 2 is no longer available to order, I’m not sure if item 1 actually comes with the jet attached, it can still be ordered, but isn’t available from England, so I couldn’t order and return if not suitable The cap ( 2a) is available, £28.25 plus vat, and comes primed for painting. I would guess it comes on the hinged mount to attach to the bumper, judging by the price http://img.photobucket.com/albums/10...psjfop7oft.jpg |

With 2a, I'd be inclined to ask exactly what you were getting, as the hinged mount isn't shown in the diagram. I have used this site before, and it lists the parts as being available. It is in Germany, so an email to them about availability and delivery timescales wouldn't go amiss. http://e-acca.com/index.php Driver side jet (item 2) has part number 4Z7955102, and is listed on their site at 13 euro. Cylinder assembly (item 1) has part number 4D0955101A and is listed on their site at 52 euro. The good thing is that the jet (item 2) can be removed in situ, as I tried it earlier today on my car. |
