Reversing camera input into RNS-D
Okay, second question, thank you for your bluetooth music streaming suggestions.
So I would like a reversing camera to output to the defunct analogue TV tuner like many of you have. However I can't find a suitable way to actually input this in to the RNS-D tuner? Okay, now remember I'm thick on such things but what connector is needed to make this happen?! Do such mystical things exist?! |
They exist, I use one BUT it depends what you have installed now.
Vital question, do you have a TV tuner installed or not? (For reference my car DID NOT have a tuner and I didn't want to add one to get the interface) If you already have a tuner it's a pretty standard CVBS RCA input. |
Thanks HP, yes, I do have the analogue TV tuner on my RNS-D. Would you mind giving me a link to what I would actually need?! I'm pretty dumb about this stuff! :)

There are two types of TV tuner, with different connectors. Check which one you have first.
The older type had direct individual socket inputs as I mentioned above, sorry but I forgot about the later version described by Sean. :o |
Thanks Sean and HP, that's really useful!
Mine is Sept 2002 reg so without checking the VIN I'm pretty sure it's a TV Tuner B version. That being the case, can someone provide a link to the required input cable please?! I'm bad enough with car mechanicals, car electrics really are beyond me! There are things that I am rather good at, this isn't one of them! :) |

When it's all done I will post up some piccys to share what I went for in the end. Having this car has turned me into a child again, yay! |
Where are you going to mount the camera?
|
Hmm, dunno yet. I'll be back to you with that soon!
I'm still deciding whether to hide the bluetooth device or not? Or a subtle place out of the way? I'm wondering will I actually want to see what's on it and if I hide it too well I might not be able to change the batteries! :) |
In the case of the Dension, there is nothing to see. Its a blue box the size of a fag packet with some wires coming out of it which tucks in behind the head unit. If you want to use the USB port then you could run an extension cable under the centre console in to the armrest. The same probably applies to the xcarlink.
