D3 S8 Road tax

First post in the D3 section :o

So how much is it then, £450 I assume? Did any D3 S8 models get registered at the older £240 rate?

kal_ay 19th November 2011 05:50 PM

Jan last year I paid £435,by next Jan I'm guessing it'd be £450. I've yet to see one advertised in the lower bracket.

Me neither, I'll be honest I just pay it.

Not letting the Eco warriors win, I love driving.

Don't you mean eco - fascists, or eco - nazis ?

darrenjoe90 20th November 2011 09:33 AM

so why is my w12 only £260 for the year ? Mine runs out end of this month

PsYcHe 20th November 2011 09:44 AM

Your W12 was registered before April 1 2006... Might do a 55-plate W12 before an S8 then :)

Mines free. Don't pay any road tax
Its more fun that way & they can never catch you

Oh what a shame to have not experienced the pre ANPR 'tax in post days'

http://i665.photobucket.com/albums/v...8/8374fe06.jpg

Went to my local Audi dealer, Stratford Upon Avon Audi. They didn't have a single D3 in, but offered to bid on a 'fully loaded S8' with only 22k miles on it for me, I wanted to see it first, they will give me a heads up if they get it in but it has had 5 owners. Salesmen commented on how rare my plus was but if he thought I were gonna trade it in, he had another thing coming. It was the only cool Audi there (apart from an A7 like Neil's - which is awesome) +++

Until the insidious I-D-S, or Grayling get their teeth into you, my Mrs is worried about that too!

Sorry for being ignorant, but what are these two insidious things?

Adrian E 2nd December 2011 12:00 PM

I would presume Iain Duncan Smith and Chris Grayling - one a Minister and the other Secretary of State for Work and Pensions i.e. chief axe-wielders

Sorry about the ambiguity.....

You're right Adrian, I guess that my Mrs is thankful that Atos 'healthcare' don't have the contract (yet) for her rebated V.E.D. as they pass anyone as fit for work who's still breathing (without the aid of an iron lung) at present

apologies over my cynicism (dons flak jacket & ducks beneath the battlements)

There are some folk who don't pay any VED and have non-DVLA number plates, they are called Freeman of the Land and use the Magna Carta which says (I paraphrase) that you can't be taxed for travelling unless you are "Driving" which means you are doing it to carry paying passengers. The government tricked people into becoming "drivers" by way of the driving license.
