Probably only if it was all original though.
Your technical improvements, great for most of us, wouldn't really cut it in that very rarefied market. :tuttut:

I'm assuming that has to be a private collector The problem i see with that is at that sort of money you'd very rarely ever take it out for a drive and therefore what's the point in owning it

I know someone with a Sport quattro, which he's just sitting on as a retirement fund. I think the last time it moved was 10 years ago, and that was on trade plates for a one off appearance at a pub! That was disappointingly quiet on the exhaust front - quieter than the stock cars.

Chap I worked with back in the late 90s absolutely loved these - he had an early 10V and a last of the line 20V at the same time, as well as a Mk1 Scirocco. I was always impressed by the torque and noise (I had a Passat GL5 at the time, so mine kind of sounded similar!). Not a car I ache to own now, but do appreciate them for what they were back in their day.

That one will probably never move beyond MOTs in order to maintain its value - bit like the recent McLaren F1 with 3 figure mileage for $20.5m but on a fractionally different desirability scale!

This. So no different from a rare painting, etc. As such, not really a "car" in my book, so pretty irrelevant.
