RNS-E loses its way...
Sorry...talking about my S4 Cab now.
RNS-E can pin point where I am when stationary, and just switched on ignition, but loses its way when I start driving in map view, or if I give it a destination to find. Do you reckon it's the aerial? Anyone know where it is in the car? I see our forum sponsors have them. Any other ideas. Cheers, Zip |

From memory there's a weakness in the wiring around the boot lid area on the soft top S4s. Might find some useful threads on AudiSRS that'll help to pinpoint.
The easiest 'fix' is probably to disconnect the factory antenna behind the RNS-E and just stuff an aftermarket one somewhere behind the unit - it may not have the best signal, but it should work fine |

GPS aerial sits just under the boot lid I think, but an aftermarket one hidden behind the dash will work perfectly well. |
Thanks all.
I wiggled the tubes running from car to boot on both sides, and the Nav has found me again! I'll strip down and see if there are any bad wires at the weekend. Zip |
...and it's lost me again...
I wonder if I can just splice in a new section of cable through the boot shut tube? Anyone done any joining of fakra cable? Any weird tools needed?.
Cheers, Zip |
One of these behind the dash will work just fine +++
