Here we go for a service!

Just booked mine in for its 100k service (not got there yet) at my local dealer's and am getting them to sort out 'that' oil seal, the one that leaks onto the n/s cat.
I was pleased with their quote (firm price) for the seal job, which is £150 all in, and will be done at the service.
I might get the front discs & pads replaced at the same time too. I've already had them replace the rear discs, as they did this cheaper than I managed to source the parts for my Mitsi when I did them on it!

I was amazed at the price Aberdeen Adui managed for new front discs and pads on my D2 - I could only just get the parts at the money never mind the labour and you get a guarantee to boot!

I also got the rear gearbox seal including flange replaced and asked for a G/Box oil change at the same time - that was also done at a very good price - can't remember the exact cost but it was OK.

It always worth asking, i know 12 months ago you could haggle with them too because the new car market had dropped off they had to be more reasonable to get buisness in the workshop as they wern't selling many cars.

I'm sure Ben only wanted £40-50 for that same seal using genuine parts..!
Never would have thought to ask the dealer but may do when I need discs/pads now. I don't trust any garages near me to do anything other then an MOT/change tyres!

Slight highjack, but i need a cam belt doing, anyone any idea of who to use in Yorkshire (i'll travel but if there is someone trustworthy close, so much the better!) and indeed how much it's gonna cost me (rough guess will do, its a baby 2.8) And also, anyone know any gearbag specialist types who can be trusted to service my sealed for life wonder of modern engineering. Again, willing to travel if i have to, but the closer the better!

B@tfink, where in Yorkshire are you?

I'd highly recommend Ben at AVP and he's only 1 1/2-3/4 away from me in Pocklington. If you're an A8OC member, you'll get 15% off the price too.

If you don't want to travel that far, then there are others out there, but the A8OC does have a deal with Hull Audi that will significantly reduce the costs to you. It does need to be booked via the club though, so please do let me know.

As for the gearbox specialist. Again Ben will be able to help, but I'm sure that Ian will be along shortly to recommend who he'd use in the region.

Obvious "Ben"efit of going to AVP? Get it all done in one place +++ (pun intended too ;))
