RNS-E initial volume
 

On another forum (RS246) someone is asking how to set the initial turn-on volume on an RNS-E (in an RS4 B7 I think).
The consensus is that it's not possible.

I'm surprised, is this also the case on A8's?

I know with RNS-D it's a standard menu option.

I've heard its a common irritation, and also suffer with my S4 blaring out every time I start the engine regardless of whether I want it to.....

To add, it was also possible on the RNS-D to turn it off, and have no source selected, where the RNS-E doesn't enjoy this feature, so its noise, noise or noise +++

I thought there was a startup volume threshold you could set but it's been a while since I fiddled with mine in setting terms

On MMI cars you can definitely reduce the startup volume to zero so it's basically muted at startup

on my RNS-E (193G so fairly recent) the volume stays where it was when turned off. i tend not to listen to "bangin choons" so is always at an acceptable level :)
