Tell me about Linbus
 

I'm looking at doing some tinkering and it involves adding into the linbus system. From what I've read, it's just a wire and so can I just tap into the existing Linbus system by means of splice/friction fit/soldering? Obviously there may be coding requirements but I'm concentrating on the wiring side for now.

For example, if something required the linbus connection to be at the back of the climate unit, does it have to go to the correct pin there or can it be spliced into say the rear footwell heaters as that also has a linbus connection going tot he climate unit?
