Xenon Adjusment
Not an '8, but an S6. It failed its MOT today because the headlight was pointing to high. But it has factory fitted Xenons and I thought it was auto adjusting? Anyone know what I should do?

The self leveling is relative to where it is fixed in position at the front of the car.
If only one is out, then I'd suspect the light unit, or mounting bracket. The D2 Xenons have adjusting screws like any normal headlight for minor adjustments, I fail to see why the S6 wouldnt have the same and thus why the garage didnt just charge you a tenner and twiddle the screwdriver, thats what they normally do. For larger adjustments, or a problem with both headlights maybe a level sensor or the xenon leveling control module is faulty... Surprised the garage didnt offer advice though - Its their bread and butter. Doing an MOT is only really a reason to get you through the door, then they can profit from any repairs.... |
Yea, I'm puzzled too...

Thanks for the advice, the garage will have no problem adjusting it. I just got a text from the tester and wanted to check this was okay before I told him to go ahead. +++
