3.2fsi advise needed
I'm looking for an a5 convertible for her indoors and have seen a lovely 2009 s line with the 3.2 petrol engine which I assume is fsi. I dont know alot about the engine but it was lovely and smooth. I personally prefered it to the 2.0 tfsi but wondered if it was a bad choice. Are they reliable or any reason I should avoid it ?

Please help b4 i make a bad choice 😀

Sorry - I've never had a 3.2 FSI, but I do know that the 2.0TFSI is really tune-able - so you could easily get the same power out of the 4 pot engine, with less weight.
Probably worth a read of the A5OC forum, and maybe a post on a TT/A3 forum as I think they got both engines also? |
Thanks i have been looking but can't find alot of info on the 3.2. Will try again

Don’t know about the the 3.2, but the 2.0 TFSI has well documented issues and will never sound as sweet nor drive as smooth as a V6 petrol.
Easy choice between those two IMO |
Am i correct in thinking the tt 3.2 was the vr6 engine which is different from the a5 3.2 fsi ?

A friend of mine has a A5 3.2 on a 09 plate, it’s lovely, sounds great and has never given him any problems.

Thanks thats encouraging. 😀

Once I tried to start it and the starter motor seemed to spin but didnt turn the engine. Tried again and it was fine. Hopefully the solenoid is sticky as it hasn't been used much in the last few years. |
