He's still not a happy bunny though, his wife managed to catch the NSR door on the gatepost reversing in and put a serious dent in it, plus broke the plastic sill cover which fell off in 2 parts.
Window etc. all works normally so it's only the outer skin.

They've been quoted 4 grand to fix it which seems ridiculous!

As they live in inner London he's decided to not bother fixing it, just run the car into the ground as it still does them OK (though he'd rather have an S6!)

Yes, he knows that, and his B7 isn't worth a lot more than that.
But we now have a recommended repairer who can do it for a fraction of that quote. +++
Though he has another problem which might now be an MOT fail; separate thread coming on that one.
