Interestingly, Its not actually unique to the A8L. It was standard on the A8L, and an option on the standard wheel base (although arguably, a bit of a pointless one)

I've only ever seen it fitted to two UK SWB cars though, which makes it one of the rarer options out there... !

Proving the old adage true, you learn something new every day. Definitely an odd option though to add one for the SWB variant.
