After flap delete remap

I have removed the inlet manifold flaps on my s8 and am now looking for a tuner that can remap the engine to accomodate the missing flaps so that I get the lost power back.

I have contacted a few tuners in the south west and also MRC but so far no one has been able to help and I have been told to just replace the manifold.

Can someone else that has done this shed some light on who they used and what exsactly the tuner did. I.e. A full live map or just a decode of the flaps actuator.

Many thanks.

Have a look at this:

Mine made 480bhp after the flaps delete, carbon clean and remap.

Speak to Will or Aaron at VRS on 01604 705 247 and tell them Lee sent you, they will look after you

That's great info!

I spoke with VRS Northampton but they said as they didn't do the work to remove the flaps they won't remap it...

Anyone else have any experience of getting a remap after removing faulty flaps?

On the phone he said that unless he's done the correct work to the manifold there is no point in mapping it and it just won't make more power.

He also mentioned that the internal alloy baffle plate should have been left out i.e. this part on the right side of the manifold that's sandwiched:
Attachment 17337

I bolted my one back in after removing the flaps.

Anyway, its a shame as I'm still on the hunt for someone to map the car.
MRC also won't do it because they say it just won't make power and a new manifold would be needed so the search continues.

I'm going through this as we speak.

Did you have any luck finding anyone to remap your S8 taking into account having the plastic flaps removed?

Why cant you just ask for a remap?
Surely the car will be mapped to the best it can be unless they are just plug and play maps. Dont tell them its had a flaps delete, if i bought my car and it had the work done i would be none the wiser and could still get a remap, or de coke and remap.
