Snow foam lance filter

I wonder if it's only me that didn't know about this?

My snow foam lance has been getting steadily less powerful (particularly since we moved to a hard water region from Scotland) and no amount of cleaning it seemed to improve it. So I set about dismantling the whole thing and found a curious little mesh filter/aerator just behind the nozzle. It appeared to be blocked, and a quick surf of 'tinterweb showed that these do, indeed, block up and replacements can be found for about a fiver on fleabay.

So, new filter installed and my snow foam lance is as powerful as ever! :)

Photos attached to show the lance, filter and location, just in case it isn't only me that didn't know about this. :o

Interesting. I didn't know about that either. The water at mine is fairly soft though so it should take a while to scale up :)

Presumably running some sort of de-scaler through it would clear it up? (such as CLR Clear or whatever heavy-base product you have which is similar, or even vinegar).
