My 2006 Audi S8 has been sold

Hi folks,

It was a very sad Saturday afternoon when I watched my D3 S8 drive away with it's new owner. I will let him communicate if he wants to. He knows about our forum.

I would like to say a massive thanks to all the members here, many of whom have helped me over my 6 years here. My car proved that if you care for these cars and maintain them properly, they will do large mileages but still look and feel like a low mileage car. I bought my car with 60,000 miles and sold it with 172,000 miles.

I have purchased an F10 BMW M5 as the replacement, give my circumstances have changed and my driving is leisure based.

I have a few bits which will go up for sale when I have some photos which are;

4 off 18" * 7.5 winter wheels with worn 235 50 18 Dunlop D3 winter tyres - £350 as fitted each year to my D3 S8 (steel brakes) -

1 set of new Yellow stuff front brake pads for D3 S8. May also fit W12? - £100

1 rsap phone adaptor 8PO.051.440.A, bought new, but does not improve iPhones. £75

1 iPhone 3G snap in adaptor - £35

1 blackberry 8900 snap in adaptor -£35

1 genuine vcds cable canbus for D3 - £150

For those into cryptocoin mining I have 8 computer fans from a big dell server

4 off 2"(?) CN-OG4071-71070-661-3236 - free to a good home, postage only
4 off 4"(?) CN-OF2674-71070-587-0224 - free as above

I will keep watching the forum and good luck to all of you.

Regards

Richardracer

Sorry to see you go Richard. Enjoy the new car and I hope that you and the new owner keep in touch. (Its amazing how many former owners are still on this forum )

Congratulations Richie and shame about the “divorce” +++

I could possibly own bm but it would have to only be M5, I’ve always had a thing for fat M5 :D

If it’s one of the first vcds cables without the new limitations in vin numbers you can scan unless you pay high price, than for 150 it’s a steal +++

Sorry, you’ve got no pics of new car yet ?!?!? Orrrr you attachment button is not working????

Would that also be the correct cable for my son's S4 Avant? If so, I'm very interested as my old version only works on my D2. +++
(It's a 56 plate so a B7 model with the 4.2 V8 - he was going to change to an S6 but has now decided to keep it)
He has an intermittent EML warning that the garage he uses can't identify, though it usually comes on after a long gentle run and goes off after an "Italian tune-up"!

Vcds cable

Will get some pictures of the cable label up tomorrow. I have used it on my D3, a 2004 Skoda, 2005 golf and 2005 seat Leon.

Probably the right one then; if so I'll take it please.

I hope she went for a price you were happy with. It is a horrible feeling watching a car you have clicked with being driven away by it’s new owner.

However I bet you’ll soon enjoy the F10 M5, it is a very very quick car.

Having driven a few of the BMW V8 twin turbos I actually quite enjoy the calmer, linear delivery of the Audi N/A V10 but all generations of the M5 have been designed to be quite a weapon!

Not quite so sure footed as the S8 in the wet though! Perhaps that’s why the new one is x-drive...

The M5Board forum is great.
