Yes, indeed I do have a D4 S8 Plus.
It's been with me for three years and about 25k miles now, so there's a bit of history to go on. Things that have required attention. Sunroof spoiler lift mechanism - I think that the motor was replaced Wiper motor - Replaced Secondary water pump - Replaced Turbo oil screen - Replaced under recall, along with the oil separator (apparently this is one of those jobs, like belt tensioners, that's worthwhile doing while they are in there) It is by no means the most reliable car I have owned, but it is undoubtedly the most rewarding. |
thanks tonupkid

Autotrader has a tax option for all charges to pick from but i dont need it as i know a 67 plate will be £180 My white A8 crossed the wall 3 times Edinburgh,Glasgow and Aberdeen it was kept inside a garage and did few miles, never suffered at all i know as i bought it back from all 3 people :-) this S8 plus has been on the coast hence the corrosion :( and the search continues |
I think close to the coast is much more the problem than Scotland.
Constant sea salt 365days a year is much worse than Winter salt...I would have thought.. Good luck with your search.. |
I had a Passat GL5 hatchback BITD - 1985 car - cheapest car I’ve ever bought (£165 IIRC) but it’d lived in Bournemouth right by the sea, all its life. My god, did that car rust! Underside and door bottoms were pockmarked with the stuff, like a crusty teenager! I didn’t care - it was very cheap, huge inside, made a lovely in-line 5 warble and went pretty well (albeit handled like a boat with a wobbly tiller). Most importantly, I sold it for a profit after 2 years abuse, so basically a free car!
As you were…… |

Worrying about an extra £400 tax on a £50k car, that is 8k overpriced in my opinion |
