My S8 professionally detailed
 

Took a whole 12 hours of non-stop work by a fantastic local detailer, but the results are great. He removed scratches and blemishes that I thought would be permanent. Very pleased! :D

Was he mobile, or did you drop it off?

I'm considering getting mine booked in with a local detailer/valeter in the next week or two. Trouble is, being my only vehicle, it's hard to find a day or two when I won't be needing it! My main concern is that he'll get half way through and I'll get called out to some IT emergency.

He [Mark] came to mine. Booked it a couple of months before and then he reconfirms a day or two before the booking to check the weather. Fed and watered him generously throughout the day and popped out now and then to check the progress and learn about what stage he was up to.

He measured the paint at approx. 70-80 microns thick in most places and didn't go too mad with the cutting and polishing because of this and the fact it's almost 15 year old paint. I remember my BMW's was around 100 microns and even 300 microns thick on the front bumper which suggests that it had been resprayed at some point in its life.
