Being at a dealership and so an approved vehicle, if it does have any of the items you have mentioned, shouldn't they sort them anyway?

roberto 23rd January 2020 10:36 AM

the stealers cannot be trusted..

the tyres are around 4.5mm and more worn in the centre so im thinking original tyres
and maybe original disc/pads
hence the inspection

I concur with Roberto (and ITs experience with one of his Q7s) that just because it's at a main dealer does not guarantee anything without a Mk1 eyeball +++

Sadly, I concur....

In my experience, Main dealers will prepare a car to a certain standard, but won't go above and beyond. Its a reasonable standard, don't get me wrong, and for most average folks, it will be fine, but its a used car, so don't expect it not to need something in the next 12 months maintenance wise..... It aint new...

If you push really hard, you might get some discount, but last I heard a used car salesman at Audi has only £100 leeway to discount a car without manager approval. Yes. £100.

They also won't put a fresh MOT on it if its > 6 months I think, which wound me up no end, but they refused.

If its something tasty, they likely have a queue of people waiting.

If you want something good - go to the Audi.co.uk used car website. They only seem to go to autotrader when no-one showed pre-interest, and they've finally got it in, prepped it and got photos. You can secure it on the Audi website with a refundable deposit.

My current Q7 was a sad combination of a dealer that wasn't really that bothered, with a car that wasn't well designed, built on a Friday afternoon I think.

I've had it 12 months, and its spent at least 2 of those months at various Audi workshop visits. Its running good now, but I reckon its taken nearly 10K of work to get it there this year. In fact, its still outstanding a visit for a replacement towbar.....

Yes, All FOC under warranty, but a real pita.

Interesting... I did think a Full Audi History was one of the pre reqs for them retailing a car......

Yes i did Ian , its supposed to have had an indy 1st service and there checking for an invoice..
also its in the workshop now having a service to bring it back inline with audi approved..

i negotiated a 12 month warranty after the original 3 years runs out which has 9 month to go , then another 12 after that,
