How much would a dealer typically charge to update the MMI software? Ours is a 2010 model, would I gain much from doing so?

As i said in my previous post, I was charged an hours labour at my local main dealer. I haven't noticed any benefit other than it solved the dual connectivity issue with the phone and in car sim card.

Interesting ... I have a W12 with 2015 mmi and it would seem my Google earth/Nav software is also out of date ! .. better order a SD card

Is that what happens when my phone connects it comes up saying too many phones connected restrict use ..

What software number do you have?

Could be a similar issue but I didnt have that error message. My "issue" was that the phone connected to the car via bluetooth would disconnect once an active sim was inserted in the dash slot next to the SD card slots. The MMI update enabled both the data sim in the dash slot and a phone via bluetooth to be active at the same time. You then can choose in the menu which sim/phone is to be used as the car phone/handsfree.

I got a 2015 A7 loan car today, as soon as I paired my phone it tried to download 900mb of mapping updates, 2016 UK maps! That is a step in the right direction!!!!!!!!+++

WiFi music streaming Bluetooth streaming. Internet Radio GPS coordinates auto logged to your phone to guide you back to where it's parked ect .. AMI activation .. TV in motion with DVD movie ripping unlocked and movie playback in any format from SD and HDD USB ect
