Replacement top arms & Banana Arms - Any advice?
 

2nd Post. I've to change also the top and bottom arms. I have read through all the posts here and I'm a bit confused on what the general opinion is on the different makes.

To buy OEM I'm looking at a £1600 spend on parts before labour:

Front suspension replacement control arms:
Top £143.00 x2 (Part #4E0407505E)
Bottom £224.00 x2 (per side) (Part #4E0407693N).

Front suspension replacement banana arms
£440.00 per side. (Part #4E0407253Q)

Would anyone have any thoughts on acceptable aftermarkets?

Again, excuse my ignorance but is the labour huge on this also?

OE is Lemforder TRW (both the same company ZF). You can get the TRW cheapest from autodoc.co.uk. search on the VAG part number to see alternative brands.
I am about to do my bottom ones again, the ones that the damper is not attached to.
The 4E0407693 part is £64 each for TRW and have the Audi logo lasered off.

Why do you want to replace. 4E0407253Q. - I think that's a mistake.

On the 4E0407253Q, i'm just reading off the report which said "Recommend front suspension banana arms replaced on both"

4E0407253Q is the upright/steering knuckle. That would only normally be replaced after a crash or something. It has no wearing parts. You would only replace if damaged. I think the meant the front and/or rear lower arms - at least one of these looks like a banana, 4E0407253Q looks nothing like one.
