Parking sensors

Hello all

Finally got my parking sensors repaired
On my way upto A8 parts a couple of months ago a chipping shot up and hit the drivers side corner sensor, dash board light flashing and constant beep from rear
Audi wanted £350
Thanks to A8 parts and Vasstech in Darlington £100 fitted
Good job done

Ya telling me
Just had another downer when I thought I was getting there
My dash speaker went off as well as drivers door
Audi diagnosed it as a amp problem and quoted me £650 to replace, no way ??
Managed to find another on the Internet identical, all the numbers matched champion so bought it
Just plugged it in, all came on for a second then the same speakers went off ??
Sick as a pig
Things like this make me want to sell the car
Anyone got any ideas
The only thing I can do now is replace the drivers door speaker, to see if its that that is causing the amp to shut down on that side
Already replaced the drivers dash speaker ???

HELP !!!

The new one will probably be in CP (component protection mode).
This is like the radio codes you had in the old days when you take a radio out of one car and put it in another.
Sadly only the dealer can remove it and often require some documentation about ownership of your car and a receipt or V5 from the previous car or evidence it was scrapped (such as via DVLA website).
It is usually cheaper if you combine it with something else like an MOT.

What Snapdragon said.
Audi refused CP removal without the receipt, BUT, my independent Audi garage does remove CP as well without all this silliness, it costs more because of the connection charges to Audi, £60, but it's done without the hassle.

Thanks lads
Will cp allow all the other speakers to work except the drivers side front door and dashboard ??
My original amp was the same over a month it gradually went off on the front drive side channel
Just seems a bit strange my old amp lost front drivers side then the new one does the same
.??

Actually, CP would stop it working completely isn't it ?!?!
Plus, you did not upgraded or retrofitted your sound system, you just replaced like for like so CP shouldn't be a problem.

First thing I would do is swap the driver's and passenger's speakers over and see what they do (without putting door cards back yet of course)
It could be a dodgy wiring and amp just cuts it off as a protection??

You could follow this guide to get your door cards off
