New C7 RS6

Popped out and test drove one this lunchtime.....

Chucking it down with rain, bad traffic, so didnt really get to open it up much but it really felt willing.

Overall very nice. A bit let down in the luxy dept by the lack of alcantara roof which had always been a standard RS6 feature.

Very nice exhaust note though - check out the vid +++

Hahaha I can indeed vouch for the fact that the car is very willing.......here is the one I took for a test drive ;)

The exhaust note is stunning!

Interesting

I test drove one today and was very disappointed, in particular by the lack of noise from the exhaust, particularly from the interior...

I'd previously tried a D4 S8 with a similar disappointment, hence thought the RS6 might provide a bit more drama, be 'more of an event' to drive but it didn't raise a smile.

There are a couple of D4s come to market recently with the sport exhaust option, not sure if that will help much, but it means, I'm afraid, that it's going to be another marque on my driveway again soon, probably one with a 3 pointed star

You *need* the sports exhaust. Its pops and bubbles and its just fantastic.

Without it, you might as well be driving a tesla.... ;)

Try a decent one, before you *shudder* resort to merc....

The Performance pack adds enough to the standard car to make it a no-brainer on a new car - will probably see values of non-PP models drift downwards a bit quicker unless specced to a higher level

I loved it when I drove one at Combe in the summer

Tech aside, for pure noise, grin and maximum fuss, I'd have another V10 any day of the week. That thing was insane. The new V8 is a bit too modern and refined for my likes. Great, but the V10 was really the winner in every top trump category.....

I was quite underwhelmed blipping the throttle in the car park, but out on the road, on song and under load it was a different animal altogether. I couldn't wipe the grin from my face each and every time I booted it!
