My old car is up for sale - so tempted

Thing that puts me off is this from the last MOT: Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories): Central Inner oil leak The person who I sold it to worked for Audi and sorted out the engine issues.... Wonder if the oil issue could be a re-occurance |
£1500 quid for a 4.2 V8 classic seems hard to go wrong tbh....
I can't remember the specific issues you had, so can't comment on what the MOT advisory might mean, but seems cheap money for a decent car to me. I always preferred the 4.2 A8 to the S8 in all honesty.... Get it bought before I get tempted ;-) |
Overheated (due to knackered thermostat and water pump) so gasket went.
I think he skimmed the head and carried out various other fixes to sort it out. |
It does not say any specifics about oil leak, if central means central to the whole car it could be gearbox rear output seal leaking which is common issue.

Probably still a difficult car to shift though; I'd offer them £1000. |
Personally, I think a silver D2 with those alloys and a black leather interior (whether a 2.8 or 4.2...) is a lovely classic combo, and an ideal intro. to the world of D2s, so hopefully someone else will think the same! ;)
