front control arms

Hi peeps just wanted some advice. My friend recently changed his a8L control arms etc and I told him to keep the originals. Now is it possible to just replace the bushes on the arms using a pressing machine or is it not worth it? If so whare can one buy just the bushes?

Thanks+++

You can get the bushes, but you would still have an old ball joint.

Arms
Price up both bushes vs. an arm on mister-auto and then decide.

Cheers fella. The problem is my friend changed the complete fronts and cost him £1k just for parts from ECP lemforder parts. Was hoping by using old to refurbish would save few pennies

just wanted to resurrect this thread. Is there a difference between the control arms etc between sport A8l and a SE model?

Youve got 2 things mixed up there
- There is an A8 (SWB) and an A8L (LWB)
- Then there is an SE Spec with standard height suspension and a sport spec with lowered suspension and the air suspension module is different for each

So for example my A8L is an SE model but you could also get an A8 SE or an A8L Sport +++

Sorry my bad! What I was trying say was my one is an L sport version and wanted to know if a non sport L are same when it comes to control arm etc? As my friend had his front control arms all changed with Lemforder ones and I have a copy of the invoicevwith the part numbers so was gonna see if I can get them cheap from other suppliers?
Thanks

Cheap parts are not always good value when it comes to suspension arms, a lot of the spurious stuff is of poor quality and wont last.
If you are just changing them to pass an MOT and sell it on, thats a different story.

The bushes from Audi and more than the complete TRW (OE) arms from Mister-Auto. The arms are cheap from mister-auto and they also have the part numbers so you can google the part number for cheaper sellers.

Nah gonna stick to lemforder ones but do you know if they are the same?
