What could possibly go wrong?

Surely that's not real? I've seen charging points where my son lives in Hackney from lampposts and smaller posts at the kerbside, but none that stupid!
Maybe someone creative could find a way of combining the charging points with the wheelie bins, kill two obstacles with one solution? |
Meanwhile, someone comes along with a sturdy pair of wire cutters, cuts off the plug of the yellow lead and legs it with the rest of the copper cable, whilst the Tesla cable lynches pedestrians with poor eyesight. Should this picture have appeared on April 1st?

Looks like with the first one, the Tesla has used their own cable but there's no proper way to use the pole to keep the cable out of the way.
Both of these assume that you'll be able to park outside your own house or at least near the charger. |
Or...

Where I live we have a street with terraced houses on either side of the road but parking only allowed on one side! Fortunately, there is a proposed EV charging facility planned so that the 1000 or so houses without driveways or parking immediately outside their property will have access to charging. The proposal is for a drive through coffe shop, 6 commercial units and 6 EV charging points. More than enough for the passing A38 traffic and a thousand local EVs. 2030 is 6 1/2 years away! |
Well.
After trying two EV vehicles over the last 4yrs, we have gone back to IC engines only. Our lifestyle revolves around the ease of travel and IC gives that. EV is not easy for distance travelling or travelling within the countryside. |
