Digital photos can be ok but pays to zoom in and look very closely. I spotted one car for sale that looked quite smart but looking closer it had a damaged wheel and cut in the tyre plus various bit inside not looking great e.g. gear gaiter with a hole in it  |
I feel for you, because Ive been in that position many times, and in all fairness its the reason I commented on your A8 for sale post.
I'm trying to buy a van at the minute and I recently spent £450 on flights and taxis because a dealer told me a 9000 mile Transit custom was perfect, unmarked, not even a single stone chip, never been damaged or painted etc etc etc. Within 5 mins of arriving my paint depth gauge told me different. Back arch / quarter area full of filler. I walked away too, but wasn't impressed that I had lost £450 due to someone not giving me an honest accurate description. I also know that some people don't know and cant tell if a car has seen paintwork or not, but its still hard to swallow. Although caught out on this occasion I still ask for an accurate panel buy panel description, and that dictates whether I make the the time and effort to travel to view any vehicle now. |
wow that was a blow
this "click and collect" does my head in who the hell does that , oh wait people who are thick ! thats certainly Not us Ricky22buk my A8 is sat up in the air on my ramp covered up till next year i really dont care if it doesnt sell ,its just pocket change for me now and is still a stunner |

Second hand market is silly at the moment. WAAAAY over priced on everything for general junk!
Next door is a prestige 2nd had car seller and THEY'VE been having real trouble getting decent stock. Lack of new cars because chip and material shortages means more people looking at the second hand market All those lease cars that did little over the lockdown and contracts got rolled over means the 3yr old rep cars arn't hitting the market either also driving up prices. Any ol' banger that looks half way reasonable is now the new minimum and newer vehicles are 25-50% more than they were a year ago and scams are all over the place. Sellers market and i really just wouldn't bother unless you absolutely have to and are willing to pay over the odds. Also given petrol prices and the slow shift of the market, I'd be looking at electric if you can, And yeah that basically means a Tesla!....as i can see a huge drop in fossil fuel vehicle residuals coming. |
ulfilias yes !
you are spot on there mate,
ive been thinking along the same lines now for a while, this is why " i give up " for now anyway..lets see what next year brings |
