A new purchase - A4 Avant 2.4 V6

It's my sister's, she needs room for 3 dogs in the back and I think she's found a bit of a gem. One lady owner from new, recent clutch replacement and all FSH. 6spd manual and all looks very clean. 41,000 miles from new and an excellent price.

Rare car in SE spec with a manual box - definitely a good thing at that age as the alternative with front wheel drive would've been a multichronic box, which would be hideous!

My parents had an S plate saloon with this engine and when they're good, they really are very nice to drive. Decent shove and pretty good fuel economy too, for a V6. Being a much earlier car theirs had a proper torque converter auto box, which coincidentally was the eventual failure point that saw the car scrapped a year or so back.

Watch out for leaky cam seals - 1 involves removal of the cambelt and the one on the other side is on the back of the engine.

Looks like you might want to pull the battery and tray out to clear the plenum drains as a precaution - looks like there could be quite a lot of leaf debris.

Very good find mate, BUT I like the S8 rear in the background ;)

Ah, well, several of us have seen that car and it's lovely, but not exactly what it seems.

Yeah, I've realized that  and I do like the S8 rear look but still can't convince my self to do it.
I've replaced the lights cos they are just way much better but I do also like my rear with two (regularly polished) single tailpipes which I may possibly change to slightly bigger ones if I decide to tune even more the exhaust I've just done.

I could buy few weeks ago a W12 bumper, compete for 150quid and S8 in the past, but just can't make my mind up.

But a rear S8 boot lid I would fit any day of the week ;)
