Roof trim removal

Re the 2 alu strips that run the length of the top of the roof.....(2005 D3 model)
Has anyone removed one?
Mine has paint flaking and ideally needs to be removed to be primed/painted.
I'm guessing there are clips that possibly get damaged upon removal?
Thanks

Just pull up carefully - they will bend easily but can be worked back into shape +++

Ok, thanks.
Did you remove yours for the same reason?

paulrstaylor 10th June 2018 07:58 PM

Yes, seems a common issue....

Start at the front or the back, lever or pull upwards and work the length of it out....

Trim removal

just as Paulrstaylor said above
so
no need for pics its easy
you need a small plastic trim removing tool same or smaller width as the trim
lever it up carefully from the front near windscreen
there are no clips
its a long rubber trim from 1 end to the other built into the trim
honestly very easy just take your time and move along slowly pulling from as close to the roof as possible

Black wrap roof gone !
