Unknown button nex to trunk release

Hello
Can someone tell me what the broken off button in the picture is for and what the part number is? I'll try and get it off forum sponsors

Yup, it sets the alarm in dog-friendly mode.
Ask our sponsors, I'm sure they will have one and know the part number.

Edit: Simple Google search; they have one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-A8-D...-/132307712082

You might want to get a few spares too. I find that those buttons break frequently, for no apparent reason. I keep a spare pair in the glove box at all times.

These are the part numbers I use to find replacements:
Alarm: 4B0962109A
Boot: 4B0959831A

You can sometimes find brand new ones for £20 or less.

I think they break if you trap the seat belt buckle in the door.

I'm fairly sure it's not that in my case. I will usually guide the seatbelt back if it doesn't fully retract on its own. It's possible that on a few rare occasions I might have jumped out in a rush and trapped the belt, but I've never noticed any correlation with that and the switches breaking. They just seem to randomly break every few months. I've often wondered if the driver's door might be slightly out of adjustment, causing some part of it to make contact with the switches under certain conditions.

I think the switches are just rubbish. Mine popped out and fell on the floor the first time I pressed it

I’ve only ever had one break in many years of ‘8 ownership, so i’m at a loss to understand why yours only last a few months, Mark.

Never had a problem with one in nearly 18 years of S8 ownership...…
But I don't think I've ever pressed one either. :p

Thanks everyone for your help.
I ended up going with part number 4B0962109A as mentioned above+++
