Wiper blades...
As an alternative to the OE wiper blades, I saw a mention of Lucas blades (LWDF24C)?.....Are there any other alternatives that people are aware of?
Thanks |

You can get the genuine SWF wipers from TPS for ~£25. I would stick to those (based on experience) Mine is only on the second set in 10 years and so I would say they last 5 years which is really good. I remember changing wipers twice a year in the 1990s.

I'll check out the Bosch A016s blades then. I did price OE ones at TPS, but, I'm sure they were £50+! |
Not sure about the D3 but the rubbers are available on most the VAG group, so if you have the genuine arms then replacing the rubbers should only cost you around 7 - 8 notes. Give TPS another call.

Think someone tried that with D3 blades to no avail |

I've tried loads of different wiper blades on my 3 D2s: the Bosch ones; the 'aero' type; the ones that my local car accessory shop swears are the same as the OEM ones; and the genuine OEMs.
Without a doubt, the genuine OEM ones last longer and clear the screen better. On a narrow country road (part of my daily commute) on a dark winter's morning with it being rainy/snowy/sleety/foggy, with the bl**dy great Waitrose delivery truck coming the other way, I'm more than happy to pay a little extra to see clearly! Good wipers are just as important as good tyres IMHO. |

I've tried others on the D2 and the best ones by far are genuine Audi ones |
I bought the Lucas ones about 4 months back, and they've been OK so far, but nothing spectacular. Quiet, but they don't give a perfect wipe any more.
