Still on the lookout how to restore 'chrome' strips, I came across this video.

the winner with the funny name, Spaz Stix, seems to give good results. I may get a can and test it out on some scrap plastic, leave it outside to see how it weathers.

I R&R'd a C5 A6 a little while ago and got good results polishing the strips with ordinary polishing compound and a battery drill. Not perfect, but considerably better than they were :)

My plan was to strip off the anodised layer, polish the aluminium and coat with POR15 2K, as I mentioned here:

.... buying a spare set of chrome trims to experiment with is about as far I've got so far though.

I'm thinking about getting my chrome wrapped in chrome - that should sort it and reversible +++

Wow! thanks Marcin that diy kit looks amazing. May have to give that a try.
Looks so easy makes me wonder surely some spray shop should be offering this service.
