Annual Meet 2020 - Important Information - Please read

Your intrepid organisers have just returned from the Scottish Borders where amongst talking to the hotel about covid-19 and how we and they may be affected (see last paragraph), we have put together a wonderful agenda for this year’s meet. Kelso, where we will be based this year, is a lovely traditional Borders market town, complete with cobbled streets and a great choice of local shops etc, also recent winners of the prestigious Rising Star Award at the Great British High Street 2019 Awards, beating other nominees from across the United Kingdom. Whilst the hotel is in the middle of the town it backs onto the River Tweed providing a spectacular view from the rear of the hotel. Activities include a visit to the Jim Clark museum in Duns, a beautiful drive in the scenic Scottish Borders around the lovely driving roads we have mapped out. Some of the points of interest along the way are also linked to Jim Clark. A treasure hunt will be incorporated in the tour.

Evening activities include whisky tasting and traditional Scottish Ceilidh dancing, don’t worry if you don’t know the dances, an experienced “caller” will be on hand to guide you.

Sunday’s activities include a stopover at a spectacular castle where we have been given permission to line the cars up on the driveway immediately in front of the Castle for a stunning photo opportunity. After the Castle visit our sponsors are offering us the opportunity to drop into their “big shop” to pick up anything you might need.

Unfortunately due to the current restrictions in place and the belief that it could take at least 12 weeks to get this Covid-19 virus under some sort of control we have decided it would be sensible to postpone this year’s meet until the autumn. The Hotel has kindly offered us alternative dates in October and we have provisionally booked the weekend of 9th and 10th October. Bookings already made will be carried forward.

Extremely well done Brian and cohorts.
Your work is much appreciated.
You have very quickly taken a lot of pressure of me personally.
Thank You.

Well done folks. +++ I think we've all been thinking about this but there was no point in asking in advance, knowing what great organisers you are.

I did wonder if you/they were thinking of just postponing a whole year, but lets all hope October 2020 works. It's in our diaries now. :D

Great job Brian and everyone.
Echoing what Andrew said, we are, as always, in good hands as proven by this decision. Thank you for your efforts +++
Now in our diary for October.
And happily October works better in that we can, post meet, head into and enjoy the Highlands without sharing it with the voracious midge.

Alternative Date

We were offered an alternative to the 9th/10th Oct and that was 30th /31st Oct if it were necessary in order to accommodate all. Is everyone ok with that if it were to be changed?
