Please help. no heat in the car
So winter is bloody freezing ...
And my car heats up to operating temperature but the blowers just blow luke warm or cold... What could this be.. bloked matrix ? .. broken divertion ducting ect ? Ive no idea but im freezing my ass off. And theres only so many coats you can stick on a 18month old child before they no longer fit in the child seat ++++ Any help woul be great |
I don't *think* we have just hot air flap like most cars, I *think* it works by water valves letting water into passenger and driver heater matrix and you can see these under the windscreen wiper cowl.
It might be worth doing a VCDS scan. Has this happened more than once? Mine does this about twice a year and the next time I drive the car it's fine, yet the time before it is blowing cold with both sides set to HI. |
Happens all the time has been doing it for about 3 months. On a very long trip say 2 hours or so the car heats up gradually. But it dose not heat up in the first 20 mins and in this weather im struggling to clear the windows to see where im going..
How do I check on vag com about these valve thingys then ? .. can they be changed ? Do they just regulate the flow of coolant to them ? |
The auxiliary water pump is part of the same unit if that's relevant.
Does that work if you use the "rest" function, you should hear it? I've had problems with mine (noisy) and disconnected it. Still warms up OK though. |
No idea. Il try the rest button now as we speak. ...
|
Wait ... my D3 has no rest button ? ....
|
Ah, I was referring to D2, but I thought they were very similar in that area. I guess not.... :o
|
No rest button but I can turn it on with engine switched off.
Found the thingy on ebay Seems pricey for a valve.. So if im using vag com then how do I test its function ? |
Have you done VCDS scan for errors? Very possible some of the flaps are not working correctly if that's the case it will show error codes on VCDS.
|
Any idea how to scan and check the flapps ? Any procedures to follow ect ? Thanks guys
