Looking for an RS6 C6 Avant

I thought I would reach out here to the A8 community on the off chance. I am looking for a low mileage RS6 C6 Avant. Only interested in an original standard car, nothing remapped. I am not interested in black or red cars, would prefer either Mugello Blue,Monza Silver or Daytona Grey.If some of the common niggles were also sorted that would be a bonus It would help if located up north but can travel. If anyone knows someone with one to sell or is thinking to sell please contact me. Many thanks..

Sorry I double posted, couldn't delete the other one.

Don't know of any, but have you checked out the RS246 forum, as there may be ones there.

Yeah, I put a shout out on RS246 and a Facebook group. I checked one out from RS246 but not really what I was looking for. Annoyingly,I missed one by a day while waiting for my Defender sale to go through.Stupidly, I thought it would be around for a little while but when I rang up it had gone the day before.Never mind, the search continues.

As a long time C6 RS6 fan personally, can I ask why the resistance to remapped models ?

I admit, years ago when finding ones still under Audi warranty was common place, an unmodified example was desirable. In fact, my first C6 RS was just this. This is now few and far between, and the quality remaps from the likes of your MRCs have proven their durability over the course of time.

Totally agree you want to see the oil seal / coolant pipes dealt with ideally, although some of them now might be coming round for a second turn on those.

Also, whats your idea of low mileage ?. They're all 10 years old now, so on average they should be hitting 6 figures. 80K is an easy find. 60K or less is commanding some serious premium.

I've been down this search path, it can be long and laborious, but its very rewarding when you find the right car +++

To be honest, I don’t see why there is a need to remap one really. Audi obviously spent years developing and engineering the car to be exactly how it should be and almost 600 bhp is more than enough for me. I doubt we will ever see the likes of the C6 RS6 again. However, there are always going to people who want faster and personally I don’t need something pushing 750-800 bhp but each to their own. The car I checked out from RS246 had 49,000 miles on the clock, the car I missed 38,000 on a 10 plate. I agree, MRC remapped cars have mostly stood the test of time, although I have heard of damaged gearboxes. I guess it’s just my personal preference. You are right, it could be a long and laborious search, but there will be one out there somewhere.

Good luck, I love mine, had it over 4 years now, the V10 is a sublime engine as stock and like you I never really think 572bhp is not enough, the response when you floor it at anything above 70 - 80 (on a private road of course ;) )is very impressive for something so big +++

Very nice !. Well, my original plan was a B7 RS4 Avant but I kept being drawn to the RS6. There was one for sale in Newcastle and went to have a look, took it for a test drive and here we are.

Advert is full of puff, but this looks decent:

Plus isn't worth a premium over a standard model (unless you really want the carbon engine bay bits that mean it has the raised top speed limiter, which is standard on the Plus!). You do get the newer HDD MMI which is much better than the older system.

Most Plus's were dealer specced so can be a bit random on the boxes ticked. Rarely see one with adaptive cruise, for example. The extended leather was standard so he's talking cobblers ref £5k cost (unless you were adding it to a non-Plus!)

It might sell if he drops the price about £4k

Hi Adrian,
Thanks for that. Yeah, I think he has reduced the price already by £2000 from what I remember when it was originally posted. Not a fan of the 'black styling pack' or the alloys but I may have to be a little less fussy I guess.

I spent a lot of time looking for a decent facelift RS6 Avant, before deciding at the price point I was looking at I'd be better off waiting for the C7 prices to drop further into range.

Despite them being very expensive cars new, many haven't had cosseted lives.

I looked at a maroon Plus a few years ago which turned out to be in a right state in terms of paintwork and lack of servicing, despite the £30k price tag at the time. Looked at several others too which just don't look or feel 'right' when you get up close and personal with them.

That one having decent quality rubber gives me an immediate warm and fluffy feeling about the seller - I could live with the black wheels until they next need a refurb, and then I'd go for a dark grey finish that better sets them off against the paintwork. The black grill suits it IMHO, and all the Plus models are hearse tinted from memory.
