Cars / items for sale sticky note - please read

Can I please ask everyone to ensure that all commenting on "for sale" threads are specific questions about the car/item for sale and nothing else. This is the one section where critical comments and witty observations are not appropriate - if someone is trying to sell something and comments are made which are seem to be unhelpful to that process, then they will be removed.
Thanks to all for your understanding and assistance in this matter. +++

After a decade of refereeing classifieds I would like to expand further on this.

Every listing should have the following:
  • Multiple Photos, uploaded here or linked is fine.
  • MOT / Service History details
  • Details of any known damage or faults
  • Details of any standard / Optional spec (where known, but anyone using the term 'fully loaded' will be publicly ridiculed more than likely)
  • Geography of where the car is located
  • A sensible price based on market research (e.g car buying sites, ebay completed sales etc)

We recommend:
  • Details of why you're selling it
  • Reasons why your car stands out, and should be considered over others available
  • Cross links to any interesting threads here, or other sites where it has featured
  • Contact details. PM on here is ok, but may not be as easy as direct email or phone

If you adhere to the rules above, your free of charge, public listing will be preserved and defended against any cross talk and chat nonsense.

If you fail to put the effort in, then please don't take the hump if well established users give you a nudge in the right direction, and some are more subtle than others.

Existing users, in my absence at any point, please feel free to refer any newbies this post in the first instance...... +++

Totally agree Ian - get it right up front, and save needless clarification questions and also increase the chances of a quick sale at the right price.

Not sure if you mean for an individual post or an entire thread, but you can rate the thread (top right of screen) with 1-5 stars.

I think a lot of us were guilty of this on a recent D3 for sale thread, it went off topic and there were more comments about Olly's old car than the one for sale!
