You will use Satan's fuel.........

My 8 is ok, but my sister's A6 (C6) is listed as needing the recall

I suspect that VIN checker is for the EA189 engine series and all A7/A8's will show as unaffected as they have the 3.0 engines.
We might not be out of the woods yet on this one. |
As long as you keep in a straight line, it should comply.
Emissions cheating software is reported to have been found in Audi A7 and A8 models, following the Volkswagen Group Dieselgate emissions scandal of 2015 and 2016. The software has been found to halve the amount of nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions until the steering wheel is turned more than 15deg, according to the German Transport Ministry. The Ministry has given Audi ten days to come up with a solution to the issue and a plan to refit the cars. Audi had already launched a recall for the 24,000 cars on Thursday. The affected A7 and A8 examples were built between 2009 and 2013, and around 14,000 of these were sold in Germany. https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/n...heat-a7-and-a8 |

If anyone was in ever in doubt about diesel particulate and NOx emissions from diesels they should have been in the annual meet convoy behind, ahem, some of the diesel cars ...... sorry Ray and others :o

July is not too far away, letters from Audi could soon be in the post for a lot of us users of Satans fuel. To my knowledge a lot of 2.0 tdi owners have refused the recall work, most are concerned that their cars will be down on power and have poorer mpg after the work is carried. Not sure if it's an urban myth but I won't be jumping the queue to get the recall done until I can establish what affect the recall will have on the 3.0TDI.
