Anyone coming to VAG AT THE MANOR this Sunday?
 

Hey all
I'm popping along to this on Sunday at Wokingham (its a 2 day thing camping at the weekend but with the main event on Sunday) -

Saturday/Sunday 24th & 25th June 2017 - VAG at the Manor
Volkswagen Audi Skoda Seat family car show

I know I'm going to sound like the boy who cried wolf, but if I can get my car fettled on Thursday (service, exhaust swap, ABS sensor resolved, aircon regas and lumpy engine sorted - or a good combination of the above), then I aim to be there.

I need to get out more +++

But going by my track record, don't expect me to be there. But don't be surprised if I turn up either. :)

(I've told Chris I aim to be there too).

Good luck with the service, exhaust swap, ABS sensor, lumpy engine etc.....

My ABS sensor was a swine to remove and required drilling out.

Well, I got the service done on the red car yesterday. :(

No exhaust swap (not enough time in the day apparently??), no engine solution, no ABS sensor fixed and the aircon regas just proved that the aircon compressor has a fault.
The garage I used is a VERY busy garage so they stack up the cars for their services each day so don't leave any time to actually fix any issues, even if you report them before hand :tuttut:

So £200 spent and now I have a list of "small" issues as long as my arm that require resolving. As the guy at the garage said, "it's a beautiful car inside and out, just a shame that the mechanicals need such attention".
All general wear and tear stuff (bushes, gaitors, sensors, weeping this and that) but a few issues that will mean an upcoming MOT failure.

At least I know what I need to sort out now and I don't think I'll be getting much change out of a grand to fix her up (they've yet to price up the work).

Some would say that it's a lot to pump into an old car that won't increase it's already relatively low value, but I guess we all know that that's not the point of having these cars. We have them because we love them, not because we are too concerned about turning a profit on them.

So now I know what the score is, I will find a garage that will devote time and care to her. Was thinking of Quattro-Tech which is not too far from me.

At least I still have the blue car as a runaround until I get the red one sorted.
