cheers matey
now the manifolds are off and ready for a clean and inspection
but what next? new complete ones from TPS £1200 repair kits off ebay £60 ish and how far do i go with the cleaning? egr valve system? intercoolers? all relevant pipe work? gosh im not sure right im looking at these flap rods there plastic and metal the plastic part runs in a plastic bush (bad design) im thinking of a bushing the bushes idea (maybe a bad idea im not sure) i was going to buy a repair kit off ebay first to see how much play there is in new ones im going to inspect further first as it looks like they are more worn near the end where the lever fits on the ball part TPS sell the end bush and ball rod part Nothing else so any ideas guys ??? |
Post a link of the flap rods you refer to. I bought some for my A8 V8 petrol and they were one piece milled aluminium.
These ones although for a petrol I think are available for diesels: https://www.gruvenparts.com/audi-vw-...-linkage-arms/ I would check for operation first, I think they are either connected or not. Mine were snapped and need replacing hence me buying new ones. What's the reason to clean the inter-cooler? is it very dirty or has lots of oil residue in it? My advice to clean and fix or improve what you have before thinking about spending big on brand new manifolds. Just make sure everything functions as they are meant to. |

Well done mate, it's always satisfying when you achieve your aims for minimal cost. I was quoted £1200 for a replacement headlight for my S8, a good mate of mine found the wiring fault and fixed it for free +++ |
