Broken valve springs?
 

I've was bored and searched through all the forum pages on quattroworld and came across this post. How common is this failure? Should I be worried that my car will have a valve spring fail?

I've got one which broke an inlet valve spring but it doesn't seem very common. That qw post is the only other one I've heard of. There was a revision of the part number to the springs used in the RS6, but I doubt its economically viable to swap them even if they are still available.

This forum member bought Supertech HD valve springs and Ti retainers to fix his engine. I actually came across this post awhile ago but forgot to post here to get input on it. This is part of the reason why I haven't driven my car as I'm worried it could happen to my engine. I plan on upgrading to the Supertech HD valve springs and Ti retainers so I don't have to worry.
