Level control fault
 

Hi the suspension has a fault the orange level light is staying on and have a code 01487 - system function test level control on vcds anyone have any ideas

The orange light staying on is a sign that the suspension is outside of its normal limits - either too high (for example if the user had changed levels and the suspension was sometimes above its highest setting) or mores usually if the system falls below the minimum levels set up. You can try checking all of the level sensors / arms to make sure none have come off first and also note if any corner of the car looks low when left overnight. Next I would try re-calibrating the suspension with vagcom if you have it and failing all of that then you would normally be looking at the air suspension compressor needing to be either overhauled or replaced due to insufficient pressure being maintained (or not being able to pump enough pressure) and if the pump is testing fine then you would need to start looking for leaky air pipes in the system or for a leaking air bag or reservoir which is a bit more complicated
