Other Audi models - very quick VCDS question

So I have the cheap simple version of VCDS (12.12.3?) which stopped receiving updates a few years back. It's fine for my D3 but does anybody know if it will work on brand new Audis??

A cousin of mine has just picked up a beautiful new RS7 with Exclusive paint (which I can't wait to have a blast in) and wants to tweak it a little. Alarm chirp, close boot with key, heated steering wheel temperature et al.

The VCDS Interface has been superseded by the NEW Ross-Tech HEX-V2 and Ross-Tech HEX-NET interface range, and I think you need a cable with Hex capability on the newest Audis to scan OK so if you have the earlier HEX-USB+CAN combined cable with unlimited Vin Number usage like I do then it should be ok +++
