Meyle Vs Lemförder?
Just gathering rear suspension parts for a planned re-build and was wondering about opinions on the Meyle HD range. Any good, better than Lemförder, worse?
Let me know what you think please all. Thanks Frank |
I've fitted both a Febi and a Meyle HD front end. Both are as good as OEM. I'm about to fit my second set of suspension to my current S8 after an advisory at last MOT. I'm going to fit Meyle HD again as the last set did 60k hard use.

Lemforder are OEM. Meyle HD are pretty good though IMO, and come with a 4 year warranty for half the price of Lemforder. I fit Meyle to everything +++

Thanks for the replies.
I always have a concern that after market parts won't fit correctly. Cause suspension geometry issues. It looks like Meyle should be OK though. Cheers Frank. |
The only trouble with the Meyle kits, in my experience, is that no matter how much you stress that the kits are for an S8 with 20” wheels, they send the wrong upper (?) arm
|
Luckily for me, my car is not a Final Edition model and so I think the kits are easier to get hold of.
Isn't it getting quite difficult to get some of the arms for the 20" wheel cars? |
I've gone with Meyle HD pretty much all round now after being disappointed with how quickly some parts of the OEM sets I've had seem to wear out. So far so good! +++
Details of the front suspension kit and additional parts I bought are here: http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthrea...t=14593&page=5 My post further down the page gives what I believe are the correct Meyle HD part numbers for both FE and non-FE cars. |

However, Meyle are now the only reputable company I know of still making the 20" lower arms so its those or Chinesium now. |
