Le Mans Classic 2016

Anyone else going to it this year?

Will be the W12's first proper road trip and will be in good company with two Lamborghinis, two Porsches, a McLaren and a couple of bonkers Caterham style cars. Oh and a transit van as our support car lol

I would love to do the classic - my son's getting that little bit older now so maybe in 2 years time I'll actually plan to do it!

Are you going by tunnel or ferry?

Takemetothepub 10th June 2016 12:53 PM

Tunnel, we used to do Newhaven to Dieppe but he crossing takes so long it's not worth it, far better to drive for an hour longer and go via tunnel.

We do a stop off at Honfleur for lunch, little detour but a very pretty town to grab a bite to eat, and we have a connection there with the town mayor who closes off the town hall with a policeman there to make sure we get sole use of the carpark while we eat lol +++

Won't be going to the event, but I'll be driving through Le Mans tomorrow in the D3. On our way back from Barcelona. (Where diesel was €0.98 a litre)

Just wanted to boast about it really+++

Sounds most excellent!

I've done the main Le Mans trips 3 times to date - last time was for my stag do, so quite a few years ago now!

Hope you're in with the coaches if you're taking the '8! Couldn't believe how narrow the gap was to drive down, even in our S5. Bloke working on the train even commented, without prompting, that A8s are the worst for not fitting without serious kerbage lol

Wowza. I thought the 8 was tricky enough to squeeze into the Chunnel train.

Honfleur, many happy memories, and lunchtime stops.
So much easier with the new bridge.
