Broken bolt door hinge

2 Attachment(s)
I was by chance looking at the hinges on the drivers doo yesterday when I spotted one which looked a little loose. I gave it a prod and it dropped off :(

It looks like it's rusted and snapped leaving some still in the hole. Is this a major problem or ok to leave for now and fix later on? The other three bolts look fine with no corrosion marks visible.

Looking closer it actually looks more like a threaded bar with a nut...

Well thats rather an unusual failure. It was indeed a stud in the body.

Tbh I would ignore it and pretend it never happened, since quite a lot needs to come apart to get sufficient access to that to repair it. If the other three are sound and the door hasn't moved then it should be fine.

Thanks MJ. +++ I thought it quite unusual too, I'll leave it alone for now but keep an eye on the others and for any movement in the door alignment.

That door needs some body repair some time as the previous owner dented it right where the internal crash bar is! Perhaps something to sort out at the same time.

Well, to fix it properly both the wing and door need to come off to get proper access I think, as well as the lower dash, lower A pillar trim and stuff round the fusebox, so its not a trivial job. It'll need drilling or punching out and then a replacement stud pressing in from the inside, probably involving some special tooling.
