Bilstein shocks?
Hi all not posted for a while it’s time to get the S8 back on the road and I need some new springs, so may as well put some shocks on at the same time as the mileage is over 180k and they may not be available in a few years. When I look at the Bilstein web site I can’t work out 100% which part number is for my chassis number (probably not much use ringing them as they just read it of the computer). I need a expert who has actually worked on a S8! Help MJ
Mine is a 2000 40 Valve AQH I can give the chassis number if needed (is it safe to do that over the internet?) thanks in advance Dave |
In my best Hal voice.....
Hi Dave, How are you doing Dave? :D You should look at the B6 range if it's Bilsteins you want. Both MJ and I are running Spax adjustables slightly lowered. They have done well on the track and road. HtH. CtL |
Hi mike i'm ok thank's yes it's the B6 range i have been looking at. It's the chassis number i am asking about really as i think mine is a early FL and i don't want to order the wrong parts. I'll have a look at the spax to are the rear shocks coil overs? as i can only find library pictures of the RSX on the web site. this would be strange and i'm not so sure i'm happy with that?
thank's Dave |
Rears are not coil overs; separate spring and shock.
Try a PM to the D2 doctor. You'll get all the specs there. |
