Replacement Windscreen
Hi folks, my 2010 4.2tdi had a bullseye hit 10 days ago and the screen can't be repaired.
I have tried to persuade the insurance company to fit an oem replacement but got only as far as them agreeing if I pay £700+ towards the bill and I'm not paying that. It's booked in for 10th Feb with Autoglass. I have to go into one of their centres for installation so they can reset up the cameras. I have Night Vision, ACC and Side Assist. From what I've read these could be affected by the refitting of the rearview mirror. I also have acoustic glass but they assure me they are replacing my screen with an acoustic one. Is there anything else I should be mindful of. |
I'm not 100% sure on this one so hopefully someone with more knowledge will pipe up but doesn't Audi recommend a special type of bonding? Something to do with being none conductive?
May be a complete red herring but worth checking out. |
I had Autoglass do a couple of screens on my D4, suspect a lot of it comes down to the fitter but no huge problems. From memory, at least one of them was OEN glass, but can't remember if there was a specific reason.
They had a tool to re-calibrate for ACC etc +++ |
Best thing to tell the fitter, that you are a forum member and you will like to promote their services so if they will be ok for you to take pics/vids. Then upload it here for us to freeview +++

Thanks for the tips and info guys. Much appreciated
