2002 D2 Pollen Filter location please?

After suffering from hay fever for the past 5-6 weeks, decided to change the pollen filters in my D2.

My 2000 Range Rover Vogue's are under the bonnet and a doddle to change, but can't for the life of me find where the D2 is hiding them!!!

Where are they located please?

Hoping someone will soon point me in the direction...then I'll move out of my flat and into the D2!!!

Cheers,

DailyMike

Under the bonnet, actually in the bonnet lid, one each side.
Held in by turnbuckles.
(Look up, not down, with bonnet open)

Many thanks for the rapid response, HPsauce!

I'd been assured they were DEFINITELY an INTERIOR location...no wonder i couldn't find them!

You might want to check/replace the foam-rubber seal around the air blower too (in the centre, behind the engine).

If that's perished (and I suspect most are by now if they haven't been replaced), the blower will be taking air in from the sides, bypassing the bonnet lid ducting and the pollen filters.

Edited to add ...

Here's HP's thread where he posted his fix for replacing the foam-rubber seal:

And my own fix, on the next page:

Thanks for the advice, Mark; I'll look at doing that too!

After a spot of lurking on this thread, I decided to treat Helga to a new pair of pollen filters. After an initial scare by looking up ECP's offering at £70, I was able to procure a pair online for just £15 (OEM). I've never replaced them, on either my previous 1999 A8 or the current 2000 A8L. Probably one of the easiest jobs ever on the Audi so far.

Eagle-eyed viewers will also spot my fan blower motor shroud/surround which was replaced/enhanced with some beefy neoprene-like foam about 6 months ago, and it's looking pretty good in my view.
