Groan from front left wheel area

Hi all.

I have noticed this groan since I had an alignment on my car about 6 months ago. Was noticeable when turning sharply. Was infrequent. Now it has got to always there, almost, when pulling away from a stop. Only seems to be after I’ve used the brakes.

Now I’ve had a **** show with brakes, and have recently replaced the front pads and discs TWICE. I attributed the noise to the brakes , brake moan, maybe a dragging pad. So yesterday I thoroughly cleaned the callipers, filed everything smooth and applied a dab of silicone grease to the surfaces that meet.

Noise is still there. Passenger in the car today said it felt and sounded like it was coming from under his feet, towards the engine on his right side.

Anyone got any inklings, as it’s driving me nuts!!!!!????

Could well be a front wheel bearing - if its worn badly it may affect the brakes as well +++

This was one of my thoughts too. I may get it looked at. Cheers MA8tey.

Just spoke to my local Indy, he says he’d put money on it being the ABS ring. But with work, and them being busy he cannot see the car for a week.

Anyone had a similar prob?

I've never heard of the abs ring causing a "groaning" but I'm actually having the same D3 NSF wheel bearing replaced today on a D3 and that was definitely a gentle groan kinda like the noise a tube train makes when speeding slowly up
