I have been thinking that it might be nice to form a group of Malt Whisky advocates as an aside to other events.
Given we are meeting in the home of the 'Water of Life' this year, I was wondering if anyone would like to join me?

Premise is simple; bring a bottle, we all have a 'wee' dram and talk about it. Here's the catch! You need to try and bring something no one else will. We can all buy one from Tesco's, but few of us can afford to try all those good ones out there and I only occasionally splash out on a rare malt; but if a few of us brought a rare or favourite malt we get to have tasters without the cost.

I have been spurred on by a recent purchase,. That I only bought as a buy 4 get one free. I would never have tried it otherwise.

Im sure The Laird and Tintin will be up for that. Tintin did something the same for the last scottish meet IIRC.

I can't remember who won but I came away with a bottle I gave Steve (Trophy888) for work he did for me and he kindly donated it to the prize fund! That's Kama.....

I'm up for this too. Great idea. I can't remember who won the last time we did this, but then I had lost track of pretty much everything before I hit the sack in the small hours.

Based on those responses, it must have been a roaring success... although no one seems to remember it.
